Advanced Hybrid Design Controls

GLD2014 now features the ability to perform automated precision peak load shaving on 8760 hourly loads profiles in real time, thereby making it effortless for the designer to understand when the loopfield will be in use and when the hybrid systems will be active. Designers can now see the significant and until now hard-to-quantify impact peak shaving has on the relationship between peak and total loads, thereby vastly improving a designer’s ability to design the most cost effective geothermal system possible. Did you know that you could shed the load peaks to a hybrid component and significantly reduce the loopfield drilling? The new Hybrid Controls also allow the designer to see how to shift from an imbalanced to balanced load condition and significantly increase the design efficiency. This has never before been possible with any geothermal design tool! The Hybrid Design tools are available in all versions of GLD2014.
GridBuilderTM Module
Need to follow an irregular property perimeter with your boreholes? Until now, designing anything other than a rectangular loopfield was a tedious job that required manual operations external to the GLD software. We work in the real world and layouts need to work with real world obstacles. The GridBuilder lets you quickly build and visualize complex shapes and layouts from within the GLD user interface. Need to install a loopfield that follows an irregular parking lot? GLD now allows the designer to easily create and simulate an unlimited range of unique loopfield designs. The GridBuilder is available in GLD2014 Premier.
GSA (Geothermal System Analyzer) Module
The updated Geothermal System Analyzer Module is the most comprehensive geothermal lifecycle analysis tool on the market. Ever wondered how much money your client will save from both bonus and MACRS depreciation? How much CO2 will your system save over the next 10 years? CFD Module - Piping and Header Design Tools
This module enables designers to easily model, analyze and optimize the piping systems that comprise the foundation of ground heat exchanger systems. This includes both header designs for purging and overall piping system design for minimized circulation pump costs during daily system operation. Utilizing a new, patent-pending visual interface for viewing and creating a design via a drag and drop methodology, the CFD module can automatically design optimal flow-balanced (direct and reverse return) systems while providing designers with the flexibility they need for standard and non-standard systems.
Thermal Conductivity Analysis Module
Ground Loop DesignTM now offers an optional Thermal Conductivity module which enables designers to quickly import raw conductivity test data from the GeoCube (a load testing unit manufactured by Precision Geothermal) as well as from other commercially available test units. Ground Exchanger Design Modules
The modular design enhances productivity, permits flexibility in the designing process and allows customization based on designer preferences. In addition, the program has an English/metric conversion engine and is available in many language, providing applicability to the widest range of equipment and customers.
