See the new GLD2014 in action

When it comes to balancing the benefits of the GLD software with the risks and limitations associated with the use of a less capable tool (or no tool at all!), GLD2014 provides a definitive answer in the form of a powerful, modern and flexible tool that generally pays for itself and then some in a single commercial project.

GLD2014 is the latest version geothermal engineering package that has been 100% inspired by the user community. In this sense, you, our users, are responsible for its creation. Thank you for crowdsourcing the ideas that enable us to constantly improve the product. One example of this crowdsourcing can be seen in the new hybrid design toolset in GLD2014.

GLD2014 now provides designers with a powerful toolset for optimizing geothermal hybrid systems in an efficient, new way. This toolset has two key components: Precision Load Shaving and the LoadSplitter.

Together, these tools enable a designer to intuitively and visually understand the relationship between peak and total loads as well as the hour by hour relationship between geothermal loads and hybrid system loads. Combined, these components enable a designer to fine tune a hybrid geothermal system (and oftentimes reduce drilling requirements) with unparalleled ease and confidence.

Recently, we were reviewing a potential client's boiler hybrid system. The boiler was sized for approximately 44% of the peak load. Using client-supplied hourly loads data and the new LoadSplitter tool, we quickly calculated that a 20% boiler was a much better fit. In less than a minute we helped design a better, more cost effective geothermal system that saved the end user well over $20,000 in installation costs. In other words, the client had an ROI on GLD of 700% from this one sub-step in the design process!

If you are involved in hybrid geothermal designs and you are not using GLD, you are most likely leaving money and design accuracy on the table.

Are You A Current GLD User?

Attention GLD2010 Users:  your software is not compatible with Microsoft Windows 8.1.   See our compatibility info for previous GLD versions.  Please note that GLD2014 can use project files from all previous versions of GLD.  Users of GLD2010 and earlier should consider upgrading now to get compatibility with Windows 7 and Windows 8.1.  GLD2014 is digitally signed and performs well with Windows 7 or 8.1.   Upgrading your GLD now will allow you to switch to a new PC and continue using GLD.  Remember, you can install GLD on as many machines as necessary. Your USB Key is the software license.
